It’s good to know and stand by your man. Nadia Buari knows what it means to trust her man. If you miss the pregnancy story, read it here.
The alleged pregnancy saga involving actor Jim Iyke and the daughter of a Lagos businessman, Nancy is now taking a different dimension. When the story broke recently, many condemned Jim Iyke even without giving him the benefit of doubt, but his woman, Nadia Buari, stood by him.
It is not often you come across a chic and beautiful woman who is all over town telling everyone who cares to listen how much she loves her husband. At least that’s what Lami Philips is trying to do with ‘Baby’, a track she said she dedicates to her husband. She recently completed the video in London and back at home WG ran into the suave beauty at an event where she talked about her career, her kind of music and more. Excerpts:
You look so beautiful even without any make-up
Thanks. Fact is that I just got back from rehearsals for a new video I’m shooting and I got all sweaty but had to quickly wipe my face with a towel inside the car
So what’s new?
We just released a new single called ‘Baby Mi’ and we are shooting another one and that’s why I’ve been all out.
What is it about ‘Baby Mi’ ?
Well, it was a song I wrote while I was in the studio. I was actually thinking about my husband and that’s how the inspiration came. So I just told my producer and we got few things down and that’s how we did the song.
Iyanya is one luck guy, not only did he get that cake for his birthday, he also got a $25, 000 Rolex watch (big boys things) from his manager and partner, Ubi Franklin as a birthday present. His current (current?) girlfriend, also surprised him with a very expensive perfume (I don’t know if it’s one of the world’s most expensive perfumes, so don’t ask me).
Davido is one artiste who sure knows how to blow his own trumpet. But, who won’t, when one has certain things going on well for oneself or when ‘the lines have fallen unto pleasant places’ as the Psalmist says. A rich father, a successful career which is barely three years old, a multi-million naira endorsement deal, sold-out concerts, a string of hits, a personal home, an enviable fleet of cars and a growing fan base – Davido boast all at the moment. At 20, he has no doubt garnered what has taken many artistes years to achieve, that is, if God and mother-luck shines generously on them.
Ever since he drew the attention of millions of music fans to himself when he introduced himself as ‘Omo baba olowo’ in his 2011 hit song titled ‘Dami duro’, there has been no looking back for the singer, who says he is currently a part time student at Babcock University, Ilishan Remo.
“Everything is just God because I just wanted to do music, be happy and comfortable but He just turned my fortunes around and I thank Him for that,” he quips.
So, is Wizkid not a threat or music rival? To this, he says, “Not at all. The rumour is cool. But I see nobody as competition or threat. God is behind me, so I just go into the studio, do my music and everything is fine. I develop and write most of my songs in the studio.”
The First Lady, Patience Jonathan’s foster mother’s service of songs held in Okrika, Rivers State and Nollywood stars were fully on ground as the likes of Nkem Owoh, Patience Jonathan, Jennifer Eliogu, Onyeka Onwenu, Chinedu Ikedieze, and Ebube Nwagbo, were in attendance. One of the attendees Ebube Nwagbo shared some of the photos on her Twitter page.
Uhmmmmmmmmmmmmm, this is the cake Ubi Franklin (Iyanya’s manager) and Made Men Music Group team, presented Iyanya on his birthday, yesterday. That cake is so explicit, the “all I want is your waist” crooner was stripped down to nothing – that his 6-pack in full view. The major thing was covered though (coughs).
Nigerians are really getting more creative in cake makings these days. Dream it and it will be brought to life.
Liverpool’s on-loan forward Victor Moses very nearly became a Chelsea player more than five years before actually making the move to Stamford Bridge. Moses was an academy product at Crystal Palace in the previous decade and made his Premier League debut with the Eagles. It was the same time that his current Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was youth team manager under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea. Rodgers became an admirer of Moses’ talents, and the 22-year-old admitted he was being wooed for a switch after just a few sessions with the Blues. Moses eventually joined Chelsea in 2012.
